A whole nights rest
It's a miracle! Last night, February 27th, just shy of his fourth month, Henry slept through the night. He went to sleep at 9PM and woke up ready to start his day at 6:30am. This was a much needed full night of sleep for everyone. We've been having some rough, inconsistent sleep from the H-man ever since his cold three weeks ago. Now if only I could ensure that this wonderful sleep will repeat again tonight and maybe just maybe become the norm?

Rolling Over
On Sunday, February 13, 2011 at approximately 7:43PM Henry rolled over! All by himself at 14 weeks old. Kyle, Simba, and I were oooh and awww over Henry on the bed. Making faces at him and making him laugh. And just like that, right in front of all of us, he rolled over. I really couldn't believe it. I kept saying, "Did that really just happen?" He had been close for a few days and you could watch him trying but it finally happened. I'm glad it happened with all of us there. It was a special family moment:) I hope all Henry's big milestones happen like this one - with the whole family present.
The following day on Henry's first Valentine's day my little heart breaker rolled over two more times for his Gigi! Then I was finally sure that it was more than just a fluke - my baby is mobile!

Feb. 22 :)
February 22 is a special day for a few reasons. It is the day that our nephew and Godson, Jacob came into the world! Happy 1st Birthday, Jacob!!! It is also the day that Kyle and I learned we were going to become parents:) I remember thinking that whole day, even though we hadn't told anyone yet, that everyone could somehow tell I was pregnant...they couldn't. I also remember eating my weight in pizza that day just because I was pregnant and I could! It's amazing that in one year our lil Baby H has gone from the size of a poppy seed in my belly to the little human, full of personality, he is today!
Below is a link to his 3 month pictures!

Reaching for the trumpet!
At 13 weeks old Henry caught a cold. UGH! Sick baby = not fun. He was a pretty happy sick kid for the most part but super needy! Wanting to be held most of the time. And he slept terribly. Every few hours, day and night, he was awake. It took two full weeks before he was back to being our good sleeper again. It was a long two weeks!
Also at 13 weeks old, Henry began to reach and grab for everything! Henry loves the play yard his Nana gave him with all the toys to reach and grab. And once he gets a hold of these toys, they go right into his mouth! This has increased the amount of things I am sterilizing daily! Its fun to see him interested in toys now. His favorite toy to date is a toy trumpet rattle that his Auntie Bree gave him.

3 Months Old!
On the eve of Henry turning 3 months, he made the move to his own room, from bedside bassinet to crib. We swaddled him up, kissed him good night and closed the door. That night I slept with the video monitor screen on and no more than 5 inches from my face. Henry slept great! Seven straight hours before waking to eat and then back down for another two. I, however, was up most of the night watching the video monitor!
At three months old, Henry has already experienced so much. He's even survived his first blizzard! And equally as important, Kyle and I have survived the newborn phase. At three months old, my baby boy is no longer a newborn! They really do grow so fast.

Step Up For Kids
Step up for Kids is a fund raising event for the Children's Memorial hospital of Chicago. Its an 80 floor climb up Chicago's 2nd tallest building, the AON building. We've been participating in this event for the last 5 years but this year we added a twist. My brother James carried his 11 month old and I carried an almost 3 month old Henry in baby bjorns. My sister in law, July and friend Petra climbed with me, just in case I was unable to make it with Henry on my own. Thanks ladies! My niece, Jill had the fastest finishing time for our team! Way to go Jill! Henry and I finished in 32mins 9 seconds! Not too bad considering my last climb, without the extra baby weight was 29mins 31 seconds. Henry slept for 78 of the 80 floors and woke just in time for the finish line and top floor view!

Henry Goes Swimming
At 12 weeks old we took Henry swimming for the first time - indoors of course! We went to his Pops' and Nana Kay's building and swam with his cousin, Jacob and auntie and uncle. Henry loved it. He lasted about 10 minutes before we decided he was cold. But that 10 minutes was plenty for Henry. We wrapped him up in his robe and towel and gave him to Nana Kay to hold and he fell asleep just minutes after his swim. He slept the rest of the time we were in the pool and an hour later on the drive home he fell asleep again for another 2 hours. Those 10 mins really took it out of him! His swimming debut was a hit and I can't wait to take him again!

Thumb Sucker
Since birth Henry has done this thing with his hand where he tucks his thumbs between his index and middle fingers and makes a fist. And then one day, while in Eagle River, at 11 weeks old, he found his thumb. And the thumb sucking began. Just like his mom and dad, Henry is a thumb sucker. Its cute now but I just hope it doesn't last as long as it did for Kyle and me!
